|Duties:|| Respond to and investigate reported gas leaks and Carbon Monoxide calls.|
Set, remove, lock, and unlock meters.
Inspect for code compliance; repair/troubleshoot gas appliances and relight appliances.
Perform emergency response functions.
Collect payments from customers.
Maintain high levels of customer service.
Enter and complete work orders using MTD/Laptop.
Other duties as assigned.
|Qualifications:|| High School Diploma or equivalent.|
Possess current Alaska Drivers License.
Ability to learn ENSTARs S.O.P.s as they relate to service department fieldwork.
Thorough knowledge of the current adopted Uniform Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code and International Fuel Gas Code.
Ability to read/interpret as-builts, maps, and applicable code books.
Ability to work rotational shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays. Standby and shift duty required.
Experience using a Rigid 300 pipe threading machine from the back of a Service Van.
Must be able to write legibly.
Must possess a high level of mechanical aptitude.
Must be able to work with a high level of accuracy.
Must be self-directed and self-motivated.
Possess basic computer skills; ability to use Laptop computer to complete work orders.
(3) years service/plumbing experience. Previous gas utility experience desirable.
Must be able to use a 20 extension ladder off a Service Van.
Ability to interpret/enforce applicable codes related to setting meters (gas piping, venting, etc.). (preferred)
Experience setting and unlocking meters (preferred).
Ability to effectively operate different types of leak investigation equipment (Heath Pak, JW, GasTrac, Sensit Gold CGI) (preferred).
Experience performing gas leak and Carbon Monoxide investigations. (preferred)
Qualified applicants must reside within 60 minutes driving time to the Anchorage Operations Center on International Airport Road, and within 30 minutes driving time to the Anchorage Operations Center when on standby assignment.
Possess State of Alaska Plumber, Gas or Journeyman Plumber fitness card and Municipality of Anchorage Journeyman Plumber or Gasfitter fitness card, or qualify to take the test. (Company will allow reasonable time to obtain required licenses.)
Ability to pass a drug, background, and driving record check.
