Seasonal Clerical Positions - Anchorage

Description:ENSTAR is seeking seasonal clerical workers to fill several positions in their Anchorage office. These positions are expected to last approximately 9 months. Standard work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves sitting at a desk and operating personal computer and phone equipment for extended periods of time. Duties may also involve occasional bending, stooping and lifting of up to 25 lbs. unassisted.

Duties:Switchboard Operator
• Operate telephone switchboard and lobby reception.
• Supply front desk information to callers and visitors.
• Announce and direct visitors to the party they are seeking.
• Accept and verify in coming office supplies and other deliveries.
• Manage the guest log sheet.
• Input miscellaneous payments.
• Perform clerical tasks such as handling mail (address changes, handling returned mail, as well as sorting, opening, and distributing mail), sorting, filing, addressing and stuffing envelopes by hand, conveying messages, making copies, and opening payments.
• Serve as back up to the cashier.
• Lock building entrances at closing time and verify that the first floor is clear of all visitors; secures the elevator panel before leaving for the day.

Cashier
• Cashiering at the front lobby counter. (Requires after 5pm count outs once the lobby is clear of customers.)
• Processing miscellaneous payments, collections, and researching unidentified payments.
• Working returned mail.
• Courier tasks.
• Answering switchboard.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Cashiering experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong clerical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional telephone etiquette.
• Professional personal appearance.
• (1) year customer service and/or cashier experience; positive customer service attitude.
• Ability to effectively and courteously deal with customers in a demanding, multi-task environment.
• Prior utility industry experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a drug, background, credit, and driving record check.
